I designed and taught the College's original optics curriculum and I've served as a clinic instructor in its Center for Eye Care. A couple of times I taught calculus in the UMSL math department just for fun. In spring, 2014, I taught statics in the pre-engineering department of St. Charles Community College.
I've published a book, book chapters, papers, etc., on a lot of different stuff including quantum field theory, computing, optometric optics, optometric education, clinical photography, and music.
I enjoy playing music on keyboards, recorders, and baroque guitar. For a decade I was organist for a parish in St. Charles and I still play supply organ for churches in the greater St. Louis area. I perform from time to time with The Kingsbury Ensemble; The St. Louis Civic Orchestra; Klezundheit! klezmer big band; and Di Kamer Kapelye, a small klezmer group. I'm on the board of The Kingsbury Ensemble. I write program notes for the St. Louis Civic Orchestra.
Over the years I've compiled stuff I thought was useful or fun. You can have a look at it by clicking on a topic in the banner at the top of the page.
